2011 Year in Review
In total, reStart served 10,991 persons—356 families and 4,957 children and youth for a total of 110,378 bed nights.
reStart provided:
- Transitional Housing for 136 singles for 12,045 bed nights -- 77 of whom came from our Overnight Emergency Shelter or our Homeless Services Center
- Transitional Housing for 42 singles and 4 families living with HIV/AIDS
- Emergency Shelter for 151 families (435 individuals, including 290 children/youth) for 8,676 bed nights
- Transitional Housing for 134 families (473 individuals, including 290 children/youth) for 38,561 bed nights
- Emergency Shelter to 1,421 single adults for 36,740 bed nights
- Emergency Shelter to 111 boys and 106 girls (217 youth total) in our Youth Emergency Shelter for 2,865 bed nights
- Transitional Housing to 8 boys and 4 girls (12 total, 9 of whom were 18 or younger) for 1,141 bed nights in our Youth Transitional Living program
- Outreach Support through our 24-hour Hotline to 1,740 youth and made an additional 2,263 contacts through the Street Outreach Services program.
- Permanent Housing placements at A New Start for 26 chronically homeless adults with a severe and persistent mental illness for 6,192 bed nights
- Permanent Housing placements at the Vocational Living Center for 17 chronically homeless adults with a severe and persistent mental illness for 4,158 bed nights
- Day shelter and supportive services to 4,130 homeless and chronically homeless individuals at the Homeless Services Center, including 170 youth.
- Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-housing services to 121 individuals. This includes 71 families with 24 children.
