Housing

reStart operates with a deep commitment to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, recognizing that individuals cannot focus on growth, stability, or long-term goals until their most basic needs are met. Our programs begin by addressing the foundation—safe shelter, nutritious meals, hygiene, and security—ensuring families and individuals can breathe, rest, and recover from crisis. Once these essential needs are stabilized, reStart’s wraparound services support the next levels of the hierarchy: belonging through compassionate relationships, self-esteem through employment, education, and skill-building, and ultimately self-actualization, where participants can pursue long-term goals and meaningful independence. By grounding our work in this evidence-based framework, reStart provides a structured, human-centered pathway that meets people where they are and helps them move toward where they want to be.
