Through upStart, reStart's permanent housing initiative, we are addressing one of Kansas City's greatest challenges: the shortage of quality, truly affordable housing.
Our first upStart development has brought new, energy-efficient duplexes to the Indian Mound neighborhood of North Kansas City, with additional lots already secured for future construction. At the same time, reStart is pursuing an acquisition and rehabilitation strategy to preserve existing housing while expanding affordable rental opportunities.
Together, these efforts support our commitment to develop 100 permanently affordable housing units over the next five years.
Designed for households with low incomes, upStart homes provide safe, high-quality rentals that offer more than just shelter. They create lasting opportunities for individuals and families to build stability, strengthen their futures, and remain connected to the communities they call home.
